September in Barcelona for Students of Spanish


Holidays may be over; the end of summer is almost here. But fear not! Barcelona is full of amazing plans for you to enjoy. These are the highlights:

LA MERCÈ

La Mercè, from 18th to 24th September, is Barcelona’s local festival. Seven days of party and a wide range of cultural activities, from the most traditional to the most innovative ones. You will enjoy castells (human towers), sardanes (catalan folk dance), correfocs (fire running), mapping (projection of images on City Hall facade), street art performances and concerts. It all finishes off with a monster firework display in Montjuïc.Take a look at the programme!

FESTES DEL POBLENOU

Poblenou’s neighborhood festival takes place from 10th to 20th September. Discover one of the most underrated but cool areas in Barcelona, very close to the best beaches of the city and without tourists. Discover the programme and choose your plan!

MUSIC

BAM is a free music festival coinciding with La Mercè. Enjoy more than 40 gigs of emerging and renowned bands, both local and international, spread on differents stages across the city. Don’t miss Crystal Fighters, Metz or Los Punsetes concerts.

VINTAGE AND FLEA MARKETS

Palo alto (5th-6th September) is a street market in Poblenou. You will find fashion, design, handmade and vintage objects, a great selection of street food, art exhibitions,live music and workshops for children and adults. 

Lost and Found (20th September) is a monthly vintage and second hand market (both selling and buying) where you will find a great sample of clothes, art, toys, comics, music, books, computer products, etc.
